Breathe easy, this is not Duluth's beloved Aerial Lift Bridge—but it does show why bridge operators allow plenty of time for ships to pass through the ship canal.

So the next time you’re “bridged” remember: there’s a reason the lift span seems to be “up” much longer than you think it needs to be.
