Return to Gold Country
by John Gilbert
(published by his own Blue 7 Publishing, 2002)
John Gilbert has covered Minnesota hockey—from pee-wees
to the pros—since the 1960s for such publications as
the Duluth News Tribune and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
In Return to Gold Country, Gilbert follows the 2001-2002
Minnesota Golden Gopher hockey team as they underwent a transformation
from a rag-tag squad of mostly freshman three years earlier
to become college hockey’s national champions, bringing
the U of M’s hockey program back to the "Gold Country"
glory days of the 1970s. A rush job, X-communication turned
Gilbert’s text and pictures into a 192-page book with
over 70 photos and had it off to the printer in just 7 days,
complete with a full-color cover and a logo for his new publishing
company. We even helped Gilbert locate a distributor and saved
him 50% on his printing bill.
